Mark Goldberg's Top Ten Movie List
- King Kong
My favorite movie of all time. Absolutely flawless from
start to finish and one of the most influential films of all time. The
special effects are extraordinary.
- Bull Durham
The most realistic portrayal of life in the minor leagues. Also makes my list
because I love Susan Sarandon.
- Casablanca
I saw this movie for the first time last year and was floored at the
incredible dialogue and suspense.
- Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Spielberg nailed it on the head with this one, the scene of the ship coming
in over Devil's Tower still floors me. A friend of mine had never seen this
before and was
backpacking across the US last summer when he saw an advertisement for a
special screening of Close Encounters. He got to see it for the first
time outdoors, in front of Devil's Tower. I was so jealous.
- Field of Dreams
It is sentimental and somewhat sappy, but this story of never giving up on
your dreams still makes me emotional and I have seen it at least 20
times.
- Muppet Movie
I was raised on the muppets, what can I say. A simple, beautiful movie.
- Princess Bride
How can I not love a movie that introduces the viewer to the Dread Pirate
Wesley? Plus, it has Andre the Giant.
- Raiders of The Lost Ark
I would echo the comments of many other reviewers, an absolute
classic
- The Usual Suspects
One of the best and most complex films of the 1990s, it has the best ending
of any film in the last 20 years.
- Young Frankenstein
Mel Brooks at his finest. Madeline Kahn steals every scene in which she
appears.

Mark Goldberg is the first of our loyal readers to pick up the gauntlet and submit
his own top ten list for our and your enjoyment. Since he did not submit a
bio, we could use this opportunity to make up embarrassing anecdotes about
him, but we are a lot nicer than that. Lucky for him.
