Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back Review by Michael Sanford
I got to see this movie as a preview last Friday. I decided to
give you a review so help spread the word.
What can I say about a ViewAskew movie. It was just plain fun.
Of course if you took out all the swear words that Jay said, he
would have about 10 minutes of total dialog. Silent Bob, as
always, is fairly silent. However, he has one great scene in
the movie. You will know it when you see it.
The plot of the movie is pretty good. For this kind of movie,
the plot can't be too strong or it would just ruin it. The cast
is just wonderful. While you are watching for it, look for
Kevin Smith's wife and kid. Hey, no looking it up on IMDB
before you go to the movie to find out who they are!!
On to the meat of this review. This movie is a comedy on all of
his other movies as well as a few he didn't do. The "sketches"
are great. Sketches are not the best word to use because they
are not sketches as in Saturday Night Live, but they are well
integrated into the movie.
If you have never seen Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, or Dogma,
you will get more out of the movie if you see these before you
see this movie. However, I went to it having only seen Dogma,
and I loved the movie. I know have to go back and see these
movies. ;-)
This movie will not win any Oscars, but then when all you want
to do is be entertained, who needs them?!
I fully recommend this movie even at the full price.
Here is my rating of the movie:
Plot: 4 beakers
Acting: 4 beakers (appropriately bad)
F/X: 4 (should be 3, but the degredation was appropriate)
Humor: 4.5
Final Beaker count: 4 (rounded)
