CONvergence Pictures by Michael Lee

Well, CONvergence 2000 has come and gone. Since I've got some of my pictures that I want to put somewhere to share, here they are. We'll be posting more pictures here and at the CONvergence site over time.

Speaking personally, I had a good time. The parties were a good opprotunity to dance and chat, as always, and the Minnesota Doctor Who Viewing Society's room was quite frequently filled with people celebrating the anniversary of the Whoniversity, and our T-Shirts were a great success. (I've still got a spare large and a medium...)

We gave away a lot of our old Pseudocon buttons from 1990 to people who stopped by our party -- I think Greg was thrilled to get them out of his basement at last. Featured guest Keith Topping said that he was bringing back room parties to England.

The panels I went to were all good fun as well. There were definitely more things for me to do than I could actually manage. I sat on a few panels, two on Doctor Who and one some of the issues dealing with long running series. There were great panels on Buffy, British TV in general, and on the Quatermass in Kruschenko's. I didn't get quite as much a chance to see Neil Gaiman as I would have liked, but the panel of his I got to had a lot of funny stories about dealing with publishers.

Speaking personally, I want to thank all of the hard work that everyone put into for the convention. An extra-special thanks to Ishmael Williams and the entire hotel team; they put in a lot of work so we can have fun.

A couple of us took Keith Topping to Valleyfair the Monday after CONvergence as part of our tourist activity around the convention. Since it might not interest all of you, I've put my pictures of that on a seperate page.

Theorizing that one could time travel within his own lifetime, Michael Lee stepped into the MISFITS Website and vanished .... He woke to find himself trapped on the Internet, facing pages that were not his own and driven by an unknown force to change the MISFITS Website for the better. His only guide on this journey is Professor Maxwell Misfittle, an observer from his own time, who appears in the form of a hologram that only Mike can see and hear. And so Mr. Lee finds himself leaping from site to site, striving to put right what once went wrong and hoping each time that his next leap will be the leap home.

Michael previously reviewed the X-Men.
