Board/Officers Meeting Minutes
Thursday, October 4, 2006
Location - MISFITS Office, St. Paul, MN
In Attendance:
Pat, Tim, Perrin, Jodie, Matt,
Peter, Dave, Ishmael, Jeremy, Windy, Chris
Absent: Thomas
- The meeting was called to
order and the bylaws revision committee presented its
findings. The committee consisted of Matt, Pat, Perrin (Tim
represented Perrin by proxy one time), and Thomas. The
committee met twice over the past month and also discussed
issues via email.
- The bylaw revisions were
discussed and approved unanimously by the board of
directors.
- A motion was made and
seconded to fill the five new regent positions with the
current officer core. It was unanimously approved.
- It was decided that the
former MISFITS officers would come up with their own titles
(using the recommendations of the sub-committee as a
guideline.)
- Jeremy’s title might also
be reexamined.
- It was determined that
Peter and Matt will run for their new positions again this
winter during the Regent election. Jodie will run the
election and current officer titles
(President/VP/Secretary/Treasurer) will remain with the
current former officer corps until the Regent retreat in the
spring.
- Regent retreat – possible
date of May 4-6th (doubtful that any of the 12 will be at
BaCon). MISFITS Geek Prom is 5/12. We would not want the
retreat the same weekend as prom. A group picture should be
taken at the retreat.
- Matt will determine who is
eligible for voting membership status this year. Starting in
2007, CVG and MISFITS will maintain separate lists (headed
by Windy and Matt).
- Jodie was given approval
to purchase the domain “MNSFCORP.ORG” for the overall
“umbrella” website. She will get the money from Thomas. She
has put up a mock-up at
www.misfit.org/Corp/corpnew.htm
- The restructuring of the
organization will be announced at the November 5th ConCom
(on Sunday.)
- The Regents brainstormed a
list of Regent-Level duties. These include:
Taxes, Insurance, Visioning, Fundraising Decision Making,
Member and Voting Lists, Election Rules (subcommittee),
Operations / Procedural Manuel (Dave will write the first
draft of this), Legal Matters, Banning (of all activities –
otherwise left up to CVG/MISFITS groups individually –
although any banning will require informing other group –
keep the line of communications
open), and office maintenance.
