Karaoke Night III a big success! 11/18/1999Over 50 people attended MISFITS Karaoke Night III "In Space, no one can hear you sing" on Saturday, November 13th. Our "Karaoke Jockey" Robb Rolloff once again spun a bunch of great tunes and everyone had a terrific time. In addition, over 7 full bags of groceries were donated to the Aliveness Project! We would like to thank everyone for contributing to this worthy charity. At the end of the night, awards were given in the following categories:
We would like to thank the judges - Chris Jones, Tim Wick, Kat Pepmiller and Pat Wick for their assistance in giving out the awards. Other memroable performances were given by Tim Wick and Perrin Klumpp who gave a great rendition of "To all the Girls We've Loved Before", Steve from the Behr'ak who did a great job with "Celebration" and George Richard and Erin Lorenz who were troopers performing "My Way" through a bunch of microphone problems. Also, kudos to Chris Jones for making the best of a tough situation when performing "Under the Rainbow." One of the true highlights of the evening was the debut of a new CONvergence T-shirt celebrating the conventions year 2000 theme of "no one can tell you what CONvergence is...you have to experience it for yourself." We sold over twenty shirts over the evening and the design looks to be extremely popular. The CONvergence web site should have samples of the shirt up soon (also available here) along with mail order instructions if you want a design. Karaoke Night will return in "You Only Sing Twice" on March 4th, 2000. Mark you calendars as we plan to have even more fun! (Note that this is a week earlier than previously noted here!) |
