CONvergence means many
things to many people. A party, a social engagement, a
chance to participate, a chance to be more than you are day
to day, or any number of other things. I originally got
involved in local fandom in 1982. I found my home with
CONvergence and haven't even thought of looking back. I have
continued to work for the best interests of the convention
in several different roles within the organization so that
CONvergence can continue to mean all those many things to so
many people.
I obtained my diploma in Bookkeeping which taught me many
basic accounting fundamentals while also enabling me to work
with others in the financial field to enact General
Accounting Practices in the various groups I work with.
While working as treasurer for the organization and
financial coordinator for MISFITS and working with
the financial director for CONvergence, I was able to
institute many policies to help protect the organization and
to improve the transactions and record keeping we do. I have
also spent a few years assisting the financial director for
CONvergence in an effort to learn the current methods and
reasons of why we do what we do as well as help out in times
of need. It is now my goal to bring some of the improvements
from the MISFITS side to the CONvergence side and institute
other General Accounting Practices that would assist in the
records and responsibility of all parts of the organization.
Working with the financial directors of MISFITS, I hope to
bring the two sides of the organization into a better
position as well as team together to continue to facilitate
new ideas, fundamentals, and process improvements.
I am open to and invite questions or options at any time and
I look forward to working with everyone to continue to
improve and enact the CONvergence we all know and love.
Thank you for your time as well as your support.

required for CONvergence and related events and activities. This

Grids at the convention and Progress Reports 1 and 2, as well as
graphics for CONvergence Merchandise.
Candidate:
Chris Jones
After
helping create CONvergence's brand identity through our
publications and artwork for ten years, I look forward to
helping CONvergence move forward into its second decade. The
past year has seen many changes to the convention and its
staff, and I expect that another term will present many
exciting challenges.
My goals for another term include building a larger
Publications Division team and to develop structure for
greater delegation. My intent in doing this is to get more
people involved with the Publications Division in part to
transform it from something that is so centered on me
individually and into something that can better transition
to other hands in future years.
I ask for everyone's support in granting me another two year
term to help make CONvergence an even greater
convention in 2010 and beyond.
